more exposure with less followers?

Ok. This is another post from the story behind the picture series.

This photo went viral, kind of. This is definitely my most popular post in my Flickr.

Something interesting

While I’ve been trying to focus more on Flickr, I posted on Instagram another shot from the same building a little while ago.

One thing to note thought, is that I have 64 followers on flickr vs. 826 on instagram.

As you can see it was not as successful, and this just makes me think about the importance I keep giving to Flickr. Sometimes I get wrapped up with focusing on Instagram likes but I took a step back and realized Flickr is a very instrumental site for photography. This is my second year with a Flick pro account, and I couldn’t be happier with it.

The stats page is very much worth the price you pay for a Flickr Pro account.

In 2013, while living in Temuco, Chile, I developed a love of photography and therefore started a Flickr account. I had a lot of free time which I used to learn how to control the manual mode on my DSLR, hence all the bad photos you will see in my first posts.

Now I treat Flickr as a lifelong project, a record of my days , a way to showcase ideas that pop up in my head.

That’s the story behind the picture, not an actual story from when I pressed the shutter on that very cold day, but the story of the most popular picture I have on Flickr so far.

Next time I´ll show another picture that has been having good acceptance on Flickr and that is related to a good Instagram account from a great architect here in Austin, TX.

Keep in touch
